1841 (Dec.), part entire, the right hand side adhered to card, from the ship "Ellen" at Macao to "Wardhill House By Old Rain, Aberdeenshire", charged at "1/4", double ship letter rate; the reverse with superb stepped box type "mevagissey/ship letter" (S.1), the face with "st austell" 04.05.42" sorting d.s., and London 08.05.42 transit and boxed "oldrain" 09.05.42 receiving d.s. on opposite reverse flap. Some faults though a wonderfully clear strike of this rare handstamp.
