A25, dated 22 May 1840, addressed to Salisbury, central Maltese Cross cancellation with Paid c.d.s. and double oval "missent/to/birmingham" all in red on the front, Newcastle under Lyme and Birmingham datestamps on the reverse; fine. Also 1830 (12 April), entire letter to Dumfries with blue Lombard Street Maltese Cross datestamp on the reverse, superb framed missent/to/edinburgh and additional "½" handstamp on the front.
