A64, to Trowbridge, Wiltshire, uprated with 1840 1d. Plate 1a, EB (slightly ragged at top, good to large margins other sides) tied by brownish red Maltese Cross and bearing a readable strike of Neath despatch c.d.s. dated 1840 (16 May); there are some creases (one through the adhesive) and quite soiled. The adhesive has been struck by two faint strikes of the Maltese Cross and can be seen to be tied. S.G. Spec. ME2, £15,000. Photo
