British Post Office: 1897 (21 Jan.) part of newspaper addressed to Singer in Baden, Switzerland bearing ½c. rose tied by the 29mm double-ring "chinkiang/postal service" c.d.s. plus an inadvertently applied British Post Office Shanghai c.d.s. (22.1) (which should have been applied to the Hong Kong stamp) with uncancelled Hong Kong 2c. carmine and with Shanghai Local Post (22.1) and Baden arrival c.d.s. (1.3). There are a couple of small bends, one affecting the Hong Kong stamps.


Very late use of the Local Post stamps. An item of great charm and appeal. Photo

英國客郵局: 1897年1月21日寄瑞士Mr. Singer 報紙郵件, 貼镇江半分票, 銷29mm 雙圈鎮江"Chinkiang/postal Service" 日戳, 再蓋銷1月22日上海英國客郵日戳 (此戳理應蓋於加貼的香港2 仙郵票上), 左上端貼有未蓋銷之香港2 仙票一枚, 郵件左下蓋1月22日上海工部日戳, 及3月1日Baden 到達戳在右下端. 郵件有些摺痕, 其中一摺痕於香港票上. 品相中上.
